"As an artist I am always striving and experimenting through mixed media techniques to create works unlike anything else out there! My process is reflective of our relationship with the world itself: Aspiring for a deeper understanding of nature with attemps to gain a level of control, yet realizing there is no "total control." It is a surrender and an embrace associated with this realization. Only then can peace of mind and bliss follow! I hope you enjoy my art for its meditative aspects, and thank you for taking the time to view my creations."
Born in June, 1968 James Black is a local self-taught Native American artist who moved to Charleston, SC from Cape Cod, Masssachusetts nearly 20 years ago. Specializing in mixed media abstract art he creates vivid pieces that reflect subjective interpretations of nature that embody elements of cosmic principles, such as harmony, energy, duality, and form. Each piece possesses a uniquely powerful flow with meditative characteristics.
